ICEPAC

This is the online public access catalog for all of the libraries in the North Country ( over 400 ). The libraries include all school libraries, public libraries, community colleges and SUNY Plattsburgh. There are over 1 million records in this database and is the primary resource for finding books in the North Country.

PROQUEST

This is a online magazine index available through a grant by the CEWW School Library System. ( For those of you who are familiar with the Electric Library , this is similar. ) There are hundreds of magazines indexed from 1986 to the current week. Most of the articles are full-text and extremely current - weekly magazines such as Newsweek and Time are input immediately. It is fairly easy to use.

C.E.R.F.

This is a subscription web site. available through the CEWW SLS, that has indexed the "best" sites for educators. It is worth checking when you might be looking for information on the Renaissance or Shakespeare. It will give you a brief description of each website, key words, and cross references to other sites.

GROLIER

This is the Grolier Multimedia Online Encyclopedia. It is again a subscription site available through the CEWW SLS. It is complete, current, and easy to use. It is an encyclopedia for your classroom, as long you have the Internet.
GSN The Global School House. For teachers, parents and kids.
Infoplease Infoplease has up to date almanacs ( general, entertainment, and sports ), biographies, dictionaries, an encyclopedia, and an atlas. This is the place to look for statistics on population growth, a biography of Britney Spears, a map of Costa Rica, or information on Game 4 of the World Series.
