Attendance Excuses: New York State Law states that absences from school are legal for the following reasons:
A note from a parent or guardian is required for each absence. The note should contain all of the following information:
A student must bring a written excuse to school the day after the absence. If an excuse has not been brought in by the second day, the parent/guardian will be notified by the nurse. If an excuse has not been brought in by the third day, the student will have one day of after-school detention for every day the excuse is late. |
