The administration and staff recognize that students have different tastes in clothing and follow different fashion trends. However, student must use good taste in selecting appropriate clothes to wear to school. Good taste involves cleanliness, neatness, and properly fitting clothes. Inappropriate clothing such as halter tops, cut off shirts or blouses revealing the midriff, over' revealing clothing, or clothing with offensive statements, slogans or pictures, should not be worn. It is impolite and unacceptable to wear a hat in class and to assemblies. Everyone must wear proper footwear at all times. Therefore, the Board of Education requires students to attend school in appropriate dress that meets health and safety standards and does not interfere with the education process. The Board of Education also requires students to wear appropriate protective gear in appropriate classes such as Home Economics, Technology, Science, and Physical Education. In addition, the Board of Education prohibits attire bearing an expression or insignia which is obscene or libelous or which advocates racial or religious prejudice. |
